ISCR has ten functioning councils which constitute the major activities of the Society. Each of the Councils has a Council Coordinator and Members who drive the respective agenda of the Councils, guided by the overall objectives and mission of the Society.
Training of clinical research professionals is very important especially given the fact that clinical research is a comparatively new discipline, it is heavily regulated and consists of professionals from different backgrounds: physicians, pharmacists, statisticians, life science graduates, etc. In addition, there is limited standardization of training programmes in India. The Council has representation from various partners including professionals with backgrounds in medicine, pharmacy, and allied life sciences. Members also work in diverse roles such as Quality, Clinical Operations, Business Development, Medical Affairs, and Training. The council members along with external stakeholders are responsible for developing high-quality programs run in several cities across India.
